Bucket List #2 Tail of the Dragon May 28-31, 2015

VOA Bucket List #2 was a huge success as 150 Vipers turned out for the 10th anniversary of the Tail of the Dragon run, hosted by the VOA AL/TN region. The Tail of the Dragon is a stretch of road in Tennessee, near the North Carolina border, that is made up of 318 corners in an 11 mile stretch of road through a lush green forest. Members came from as far away as New England, Texas, Florida, and Michigan to cruise the Dragon and surrounding roads.

The highlight of the event was an inspiring presentation by Seth Green, VOA member and a Captain and helicopter pilot in the army, who had just returned from his third combat mission in Afghanistan. Seth held the audience spellbound as he told of his experience of crashing in enemy territory. He also presented Doris Gilles with an army civilian patriotism appreciation award for supporting the troops. We all walked away feeling proud to be American and proud of our fellow VOA members.

After the second day of driving the twisty backroads around the Dragon, the event concluded with a huge Viper parade through downtown Gatlinburg, and dinner at the Cherokee Grill.
