The car is not at a Dodge dealer so they said they will send it to a dodge dealer to get the recall done as i don't wanna take it and run into any issues.

Does it make any sense that one was completed and one not?
Also if it comes back negative, am i clear of having any issues which relates to this?

Should i also be getting the 10 year extended warranty?
My 2014 TA did not have the r28 recall issued, only r29. Do you know for sure the r28 recall was issued for your car? You can run the vin and find out. Any car that has the r28 issued I believe automatically gets the 10 year powertrain warranty. If only r29 recall was issued then you don’t. All cars 2013-2015 had r29(oil consumption) but not all had r28(oil contamination).

Call a Dodge service department with the VIN and ask them to confirm if it has the 10 year powertrain warranty. I did this with all the Vipers that I considered buying and then you will also get the exact date that it ends.

Mine had both R28 and R29 completed, passed, and had the paperwork and letter from FCA confirming the extended warranty. However, in the system, showed R28 was open. Never could figure it out.

What was the reason for the replacement?

So i did look up the VIN and it shows R29 was completed
    But R28 was not.
Spoke to the dealer that did the R29 recall and he said that R28 was completed but never closed out. But they have to do it again to close it out.
As far as the warranty goes it does have the 10 yr 100000 mile extended warranty.

I love the car but its a lot of money their asking for it. Pretty much the MSRP when it was new. I just dont want to regret it in the future if something happens.
I know i have the extended warranty but if engine gets replaced then the value of the car will go down.

Never understood why cars lost value when they got a brand spanking new factory engine.

Lol I don’t think my car is less valuable with brand new engine. I would actually think it would add to the value as no worries about early engine issues. Plus it now has a longer warranty.
Motor was replaced because it was eating oil.

Looks like the 10 year extended warranty from the recall worked out in your favor?

This shows why a replaced engine won't devalue most Viper sales. Most people do not check unless they are buying an extremely low mile collector's display version.

Carfax does not necessarily report details of repairs such as cam sensor, differential, engine, water pump replacements or maintenance such as oil changes.

id rather have a defective engine replaceed anyways instead of keeping miles low and it grenading later on.

Every year I change teh oil I send a sample to blackstone to keep an eye on it, 3 so far and all results have been great. Will be a nice selling point as well

Scrutinize the carfax and assume the worst. I've been slowly uncovering many issues associated with "minor front end damage" according to the carfax. Everyone automatically assumes that means some touch up paintwork was done from scraping a curb, but in my car's case it was a reasonably nasty off road incident.
