Possable scam anyone know this car

    Photo (2).jpg
    Photo (3).jpg
    Photo (4).jpg

I have a Vin number of 1C3BDECZXGV727183 Can anyone break that down for me?

The guy says it had additional work done on it by DC Performance!

Friend of mine is looking at it from the UK

The price is nuts. I also have an email address but it may be the scammers.

    Thanks Mark

I think that one is legit and supposedly has had tons of mods done to it for tracking.

I believe this is a Dan Cragin built car:

    https://driveviper.com/forums/thread...ds-on-this-ACR

... so no scam. In fact it would be the real deal.

Just keep in mind, just becasue this car was for sale, doesn't mean is still is. It can still be a scam. Be careful.

Usually if the price sounds too good to be true.....then it usually is a scam...!

I recall seeing that for sale several months back. It appeared to have been very well built, with all of the right boxes checked. Clearly, someone knew what they were doing and created an amazing machine -- indeed, this is exactly what FCA likely envisioned and knew could be easily created from the ACR-E platform that they gave us. This car makes my point that nothing else currently available from any showroom is as close to being a real race car as the ACR-E.

Always wondered who would pick that up and what their thoughts were once they got it out on the track. Put that thing on the 'Ring

Maybe you could try to drop Dan a quick note. He seems like a busy guy, but maybe he could at least validate if the car is for sale and not a scam.

The real question is if the seller is borrowing photos of someone else's car. Esp. if the price is low.

Mark, he was selling it on eBay 60-90 days ago for $160 US. Dan told me that he decide not to sell. Dan knows him well. Call him at 626-588-2883 or email; dancragin@gmail.com

The car referenced in the first post of that thread does not have the same VIN listed in the linked eBay ad as Fatboy 18's VIN listed above

Also, I can not access a Window sticker or an Equipment listing for VIN 1C3BDECZXGV727183

    https://www.chrysler.com/webselfserv...BDECZXGV727183

Nor is that VIN found on the mopars recall page.

    Typo ?

I don't know if this is the same car but I was getting new car prep done at Cragins, and there was a very similar silver ACR that wasn't running and it was commented to me the dealer denied the power train warranty it has an arrow pcm and they were going to try to get it running. I saw the ad on here a couple of months ago and not knowing if it is the same car or not I didn't want to post or bad mouth the car since I didn't have enough info. Also the car I saw at cragins I was told had 3 thousand hard track miles on it...and a black California license plate referencing a gt3 or Porsche....the car filthy inside and out covered in grime...it looked like it had never been washed. Idk if this is the same car or not...?

Thanks everyone for the replies, I have forwarded this thread onto Dave who does not really post on here.

The advert was on Carsforsale.com but the advert got pulled. My friend contacted the seller and is asking questions about the car. He was sent a VIN within a minute of sending an email but so far other questions remain unanswered.

THE PRICE WAS UNDER $70! So am now trying to find out if it was simply an advertising error OR someone else is using this cars details to make a buck.

The Vin number given to my friend is different to the Vin in that ebay advert!

You answered your own question, had you said that up front, all the replys would have just said scam. You had to ask the group if this was a scam?????

Note: Just recently I saw a Stryker Red Viper for sale for a very reasonable price on cars.com . Not as ridiculously low price as this one. I googled the photo used in the ad and found that it had been copied from a member's post on this forum.

In the case that you posted a google search of those photos showed up no matches. That is uncommon with the usual scams, so I can see why you are very suspicious but, trying to confirm.

I have also seen another ad where the VIN was wrong; but, the seller claimed he mistakenly used the VIN from his truck. lol. right.

    Under $70k???

You do realize that is approaching current pricing for 2006 Gen III's, right?

And here is an ACR-E that is 10 years newer, with a legitimate $70k in valuable mods.
