So some say tax reform doesn t work

FCA just announced that they will be moving the plant that produces the Ram from Mexico to Michigan, creating 2500 new jobs. They also just gave 60,000 workers a $2000 bonus.

Pelosi says it’s just “crumbs”. If only the messenger wasn’t so deeply flawed the loony left would be marginalized to virtual nonexistance.

Awesome. Have to say when I last visited your great Country I was having a hard time finding many products actually made in the USA!
Even bought an American Flag and a totem pole bottle opener only to find they were both made in China!

All Countries should be trying to produce products and look after people within their Country first in my book. This was the mistake of the British Motorcycle industry in the late 60s and 1970s, they just concentrated on selling the products abroad, meanwhile the japanese started importing small reliable bikes with electric starts which people actually wanted then when money markets collapsed they did too.

With the Industry coming back to the USA the taxes paid by new employees should help improve roads and pavements and infrastructure in the area.

Lots of employers adding jobs here, giving bonuses and employee pay is increasing. It helps greatly especially for small business owners like myself.

The "some" that say that tax reform does not work are either propagandists for a socialist agenda or ignorant of the role of tax expenditures within government spending. Direct expenditures are items that someone has to actually apply for and require some degree of vetting prior to money being paid out. Tax expenditures, which most people know as deductions, deferrals, income characterization, exclusions, exemptions, special tax rates, tax credits, etc. do not require prevetting and abuses are picked up through service center, office or field IRS examinations. There is a Tax Expenditure budgeting process that came in under a 1974 law but the media seem to have forgotten about that. In 1986, the Internal Revenue Code was amended. Since then, a lot of horse trading has occurred and the Code, as is always the case over time, was loaded up with new provisions. The New Act is not perfect but it goes a long way toward trimming the tree a bit and making it fit our current needs. As long as we are a free society and continue to evolve and change, there will be future needs to trim the tree. Bravo for getting the new act done.

Reform was and still is needed and overall this step spurs development and repatriation of overseas funds...Thats good. I have a problem with 2 things though. 1) With a 35+% (massive) drop in taxes for corporations and yet the upper middle class (300-800k/yr) still burdens the brunt of financing the country without an appreciable change. 2) Related to 1, Its a kick in the nuts to drop the mortgage interest deduction from a mil cap on the loan to 750k. I live in Indiana and homes are cheap. I cant imagine the percentage of folks affected by this in states like CA.

    Old mortgages are grandfathered in.
