    Gen IV Hood Question

    Quick question -

Does anyone know how these vents are attached to the Gen IV hood?

I want to remove all six vents prior to repainting, but need to know if they simply pop off if I yank hard, or if they are a pain in the @$$ to remove and then have to replace the plastic fasteners. I can't tell.

    Thanks, Drew

There are six little plastic pop rivets on each vent. Pry those out and you should be good to go.

Just use a trim tool and they will come right out. Replace with new on the reinstall.

Great, thanks. Hopefully the new ones are easy to find somewhere...and not $50 each, lol.

    You're welcome

Oh, and I'd recommend running the car and getting them nice and warm before trying to pry them off. Also, put a towel down over the engine bay to catch the clips that go flying.

Thanks a million! Just ordered a bag and will make sure to follow your advice during removal.

All information above makes it a lot easier. I had mine all out in about 15 minutes.
