Either one don't matter. I'll even throw in the Queen of Farts.

Aftermarket...can you determine who manufactured the windshield? Would be good to know. Perhaps they'd entertain direct orders from those in need.

Well, the windshield is labeled "XYG" in the photo posted, and the number one hit on google is a windshield manufacturer, Xinyi Glass, with the same logo.

Stop the Press, a contact in France has found 16 GTS Screens! (allegedly)

I will be in France at the end of the month with my Viper mates and will get 100% confirmation these are the correct screens.

I do not currently know Price?

I'll need to see pics of the French shipping girl first. Maybe have one of their cheese plates with the bread toast crisps. Then I wire the money.

One option to produce them domestically.

Not cheap and I have no clue how to get the exact drawings/template or spare windshield for them to make the mold off of, but doable and with quantity, a bit less expense than the numbers below.

If anyone is ever interested, let me know.

    "Hello Ron,

We are able to manufacture this windshield for you, the cost to have the mold made for the first unit is $1,500 and the glass is $750 with a 3-5 week lead time, crating is $225 and freight is on buyer (estimated at $200). We will need either a physical template, duplicate piece or exact drawings. If you are ordering a quantity of panels it will be priced accordingly. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

    Thank you, www.curvedglasscreations.com"

Nice work Ron. Maybe we could ask him if he's willing to wave the template fee or cut the crating cost if we gave him an order of say 15-20 windshields?

Waving the fees is easy. Finding someone to donate a windshield to make the template is the hard part. It would be preferable to be an original from a car or at least OEM. Any aftermarket windshield will likely already be a copy. Then this would be a copy of a copy if the donor was aftermarket. $1500 is cheap compared to the deposit I would take to borrow my stuff.

That’s a shame the ones in France are so high. I supposed it’s good to know they’re there at least.

Ron, awesome work contacting the company in FL. If they can match OEM in terms of quality, I really like the idea of a group buy. Based on this thread and many others, it is clear the demand exists.

All, what is the best method for starting a group buy like this?
