New to the VOA and Ownership Experience

    Good evening to all!

I would like to intruduce myself to the forums as I have a feeling I'll be on here daily, if not, weekly. I have recently purchased a Gen II '00 GTS and would not have had the opportunity to do so if it wasn't for Nate's patience at American Supercars in California and a friend of mine who drove me +150 miles to see it and buy it. Currently, I reside in the Bay Area in California.

There are a few things I've already done to the GTS since then:
    • Installed a ROE Racing Power Steering Vent Tube
    • Installed a Revelco System
    • Installed a Rexing Front & Rear Dashcam (front only at the moment)

I do plan on having the cables run behind the dash and below the seats but would need an OEM Service manual with the "exploded view" so that I can remove the dash and other necessary items to have a clean install.

I also am working on finding a reputable place I can have fresh tires delivered to as Putnam Dodge and Broadwalk Dodge (both in Redwood City Area) have been giving me the run-around. I've been recommended to check out Vayala Motorsports in San Jose by Nate for any work needed to be done and have seen that Normandin Dodge in San Jose is Viper friendly. Has anyone had experience with Ted or with Normandin on Capitol Expy?

Looking forward towards being fully immersed in the Viper ownership experience. It's been three weeks and I still can't get this goofy grin off of my face after driving the GTS.

Normandin is Viper friendly and they would be able to mount your new tires. Just get ahold of Jon B at PartsRack and I bet he could ship them directly to that Dealership?

@Bill W, mine too! Thank you and thank you! I've reached out to Jon a while back before joining the forums, just having trouble with getting the service departments to confirm if I can have the tires delivered there. (I don't own a truck or a vehicle that is equipped for towing.

Thank you @Herrsss! I couldn't agree more! I will have to check that out and see if I can swing by. Thank you for the heads-up!

@Bill Pemberton, just contacted them yesterday and awaiting for the "okay" today. Normandin didn't have a service adviser available at the time I called in yesterday. Once confirmed, I'll wrap up the order with Jon.

Your new tires are on the way to a great shop in Mtn View..... THANKS

Regarding that 'P/S Vent Tube': Be sure NOT to vent hot, steaming PS fluid down on the ground under your NEW TIRES! Much better and safer to keep PS fluid fresh, and not overfilled, so it wont boil over in the first place!

    Welcome...

@JonB ~ PartsRack; Thank you for putting up with me these past couple weeks. It has been a pleasure working with you and can't wait to get my GTS in her new shoes! I would have taken months to find a great set and a place that can put them on. Wouldn't have been able to do this without your help. Thanks again Jon!

I'll definately have to check the P/S Vent Tube and realign before the new tires go in. Might just add another section to it to better direct it away from the tires and headers.

    Welcome! Congrats! Beautiful ride!
Sorry, I have to ask: what is the Heim-joint for? What is the blued pipe behind/under it?

When one owns a Viper the Goofy grin is inherent. It never goes away!

Drive it. Enjoy it. Be safe.

I could be wrong But the Big Blue looking pope under the Heim Joint is actually a chrome or polished aluminum top hose from the ridatior to the thermostat,
The Blue colour you can see is a reflection of the horizontal frame brace bar. Looks like the normal aluminium frame brace bar has been removed? Or modified?

Why does it vent hot power steering fluid down onto the ground and therefore under your tires?!?

Seems that might adversely affect traction...............

Should be fine with that ROE Vent tube

Problem used to come from vibration, SOME Caps (Mine has never come loose) used to twist loose resulting in fluid spilling onto headers of engine causing some cars to catch Fire or like Jon said fluid could get onto tires causing a problem if you were on track.

But with the cap tightened down hard AND adding the bent pipe, the tube stops the cap from rotating loose and falling off

I have an extra piece of rubber tube sleeved onto the lower end of my Aluminium tube, going down to slightly below the lower chassis
