    Do you valet your car

Perhaps a better question is, do valet employees even know what a clutch is?

They could hand me a $100 bill to do it, and I still wouldn't.

Uh, no. I think you already knew the answer to that one.

I was at a company gathering the other night at a local restaurant with ONLY valet parking. I was in my Ram. I NEVER valet. I said, you can get in and tell me where to park it, and they refused. They said I would have to find somewhere else offsite to park.

Since it was a required company gathering, I had no choice. But if I were there on my own, I would have left.

    A Viper? Never.

Beyond the obvious itch that anyone working for tips jumping into one would have to "take it for a quick spin" (literally), I would worry about the ability to properly drive a manual high-hp car. Most valets our way don't even want to drive it. When I ask "where can I put it", I usually get a very relieved look and friendly response to keep it right up front.

Tell them you have a concealed weapon in the car and they are REQUIRED to allow you to park it yourself, at least in FL.

    And you keep the keys!

Yes, dozens of times. It's a Dodge, not a Pagani. It's always parked up front, and if they tried to joyride it, I'd hear it start up from inside the restaurant.

Finally some light shed in this thread. Just throw the valet a $20 if you’re too worried and want to park it yourself.

I worked as a valet all through college and really enjoyed it. It paid well. I had the opportunity to drive a lot of exotics (granted it wasn’t a far drive). I got some exercise.

I have allowed some of my other cars to be parked by a valet including my 1998 GTS I had a few years back. For the GTC, I guess it would depend on the location and if I could physically see where my car would be parked from where I would be after I handed over the keys. Most places I go these days for food/entertainment allow me to park it myself right up front because they like the show piece in front of their establishment.

...just like a Ford GT is just a Ford huh ??

You obviously own one...but it’s a Viper...not a Dodge. That is a big difference, at least in my world.
