Nice piece of Viper history. It won't be cheap though.

That would be every Viper owners dream to own the very first car.

That would be so amazing to own, what a great piece of hisstory.

My wallet and I are not worthy of such royalty in the garage, but it gives a boy something to daydream about!
First it was a '95 RT/10, then came the '01 GTS. Now it's a '14 GTS. They say the third time's the charm, I have to agree.

When will you be coming into town. Surely you'll want to buy this in person.

    Looks like they're estimating $100-125k.

While a lot of money for a Gen I...I would think it would be worth more than that being the first one ever produced.

A highlight of my LIFE was providing some parts for that car to The Chairman when it was getting detailed-restored.....the phone calls alone were simply amazing.

It should go for double that, minimum.

I amazed that the estimate is so low for such a significant piece of automotive hissstory??

The last Viper and first Demon brought $1million at auction.

Agree and it probably would if it were at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

They did, but proceeds went to charity.

There you go again using car auction sales prices as a reference point for the actual value of something. Drunks with their trophy wives and checkbooks. Hilarious.
The best thing about this Viper forum....NO DAVE6666!

Auction sale prices aren't necessary accurate nor inaccurate values; 50/50.

Now, vehicles being auctioned off for charity...100% inaccurate representation of the vehicle's value.

Interesting to see if it has the same engine it crossed the production line with. A bit of trivia—the first few production executive vipers went back to the factory to have their engines replaced very early for throwing oil. If his has 6k plus miles I doubt it has the production engine. Imo it does not affect value. I scoured the country and with Lutz’s help bought his original engine which I have in a crate.

These cars did not go thru dealers and someone like Herb would come to the execs houses and take the cars back to the factory.

Hopefully it stays in America! It is the one to have. It has no choice but to do extremely well.

I would not be surprised if this Viper does not go to a Museum. A lot of these caliber vehicles end up there. I personally think that this would be the best outcome. So that all of us (meaning me too) can go visit with this piece of history.
To have it go to a private owner and hidden away would be a waste.

    Today is the BIG DAY - GUESSES? Hagerty #1 $67,800 plus $50,000 for VIN#001 plus $35,000 for Lee. $152,800 + 10% = $168,080.00. What say you?

I think the sky's the limit. $100-$125k would be a serious bargain. My guess is at least double that.

$400,000 to 500,000 ...................first and the fact that it was Lee Iacocca's lends itself to a lot of collectors who would desire it because of his legendary status in the annals of Automotive History.

Cool side note about Jon B providing some parts, sounds like another , " And now you know the rest of the story?"

Very doubtful but hope you’re right. A few cars have crossed the line so far—-miserable prices. This is painful to watch.
