    Carbon Fiber Hood

I'm not interested in this one, but saw it advertised. It has cracks all over the place. is this typical? Anyone have any experience with one?

Yes it's typical of shitty manufacturing or being dropped out of an airplane form 10,000 feet.

^^^^^^ That's funny shit. I don't think 10,000 feet would do all that damage though!

lol... Yeah I mean crashing is pretty typical too, but...

That thing is WHIPPED! I can drop ship you a fresh, clean carbon hood. DM me.

Yup that’s my hood, body shop quoted me $300 to repair but I’d just prefer to replace it. Was told that it was most likely due to the hood struts being to stiff since they weren’t changed after putting the hood on. Anyway I’m open to offers.

If you can repair it to as new condition for $300 and are confident that it would stand the test of time why wouldn’t you do that? Seems to be the cheaper route vs a new carbon hood.

Carbon is hard to fix when failed like that. That's a failure all the way through the gelcoat... just sayin'.

PS: Sorry for bashing your hood!

I was directing that comment at BlueSnake44 just in case that wasn't clear. It does seem like it would be difficult at best to repair, but if BlueSnake can fix it for $300 and it be good as new and hold up over time why wouldn't he do that instead of buying a new one...Not to bash his hood either, but I'm in the same camp of thinking it wouldn't hold up if repaired.

This is what I was told by the shop. Also the bottom of the hood looks to be fiberglass and not carbon fiber. The fiberglass is easier to repair then the carbon fiber. I purchased a new hood because I wanted the double sided carbon fiber hood and didn’t want to go through any repairs. There are many people who would prefer to purchase something cheaper and don’t mind putting in the work to make it road worthy, so this would be for them.
