Great choice Robert. What color is your car?

I don't want to put Robert on the spot, but you have to see the things he is capable of producing. Especially Arizona Vipers. Things I had no idea were possible.

Wow, Robert must own or have access to an Indycar level fabrication facility. Amazing work indeed!

The wheels are fantastic as well. Can't wait to see some detail shots of the centerlock system and the wheels installed.

Been looking at doing some forgeline wheels. Looks great! Would love to have a set of wheels that sit nice and flush with the fenders without using spacers. If I didn't have silver stripes I would be all over the gold ones. I'm curious, what happened at the dealer so I can avoid that? I'm so nervous to have anyone touch my wheels that I was just thinking about having them mounted at some exotic dealer that's used to dealing with these sizes.

The center lock system is the titanium version that Forgeline produced. Over time, I might look at the possibility of improving upon it. As to fabrication/carbon fiber/some more esoteric metals (e.g., beryllium, Inconel, magnesium, super magnesium alloy, titanium, etc.), it is generally different from Indy car. Other than, as all of us know, that Viper is a great and, now, iconic, perhaps legendary, American car, I will have no worthwhile observations until it is finally delivered to me after certain engine (and much other) work is completed (the car is remaining normally aspirated) including the manufacture, delivery and installation of titanium connecting rods, titanium/aluminum gudgeon (wrist) pins, increased temperature resistant aluminum (the same material used in, e.g., F1, certain LeMans LM1 cars) pistons and a lightened crank shaft.

I've heard about you! I'm jealous of a lot of your mods, but probably way out of my price range. You are doing titanium shock springs too right? What else???

"Super magnesium"?? Had never heard of it, but see now that it is actually a thing. Now we must be talking about aerospace stuff. And more emphasis on "space" I imagine.

Beautiful work... so when can we expect some goodies for the Vipers?

  22. #22
Two problems; (1) I am not capable of doing anything that is less than the best that can be done; and (2) I do not believe that the market can tolerate the costs.

  23. #23
Understood, any plans to actually make anything for yourself? From the items I have seen you make I would buy whatever you make

  24. #24
The rods, pistons, wrist pins and crankshaft are the first. Once I have the car in my possession (July/August), I will look and evaluate. Maybe there will be something totally outrageous that would be fun.

Yep. He's THAT dude. I'm no fanboy but the fact that Robert has an ACR tells you what a special car it is. That said, I'm a bit surprised he didn't go with 18" fronts for better tire selection ;-)
