Will this be open to spectators from abroad (just to visit, no driving)? Depending on how the travel situation will be next year, this sounds like a ton of fun and a good chance for someone like me to meet some of the great Viper folks I've heard and read about for years.

I would imagine you would be welcome. However, motel accommodations are not exactly plentiful in the Elkhart Lake area.

So the old Viper days HPDE type stuff is off the table for regular Vipers. I ran my Gen 2 with nothing but belts and a hans.

I think this is up in the air, they aren't fully decided on everything yet as Bob Woodhouse himself said. Let's see what he says on the next updates. My car is race ready, but would much rather do a time trial type thing but let's see what Bob says on his next update.....

It's still far away, but could be fun. Also, might give me a chance to visit my father's cousin's family again. They live up in Sault Ste. Marie and I spent a whole Summer there in 1999.

I was going to say Sault Ste Marie is not really close to RA. BUT, I then noticed where you live. Comparatively speaking in this situation, Sault Ste. Marie is right around the corner!

Hi All, there is an announcement thread in the events category, Viper Days Reunion, for some details. For you track hounds here is where we are currently. 1st let's correct some misinformation out there. Two categories friends. Heritage Race and Time Trials. The Heritage Races will be for caged, fire bottled race cars using an SVRA "Gentlemen style" approach. The Time Trials are for safety inspected Vipers and drivers. Emphasis on safety inspection, no rusty wheel bearings here Dean. Skip is putting together a competition committee and preparing both driver and vehicle forms. Hold your questions about tires, passing etc till we have those forms published on the week after Thanksgiving. My thought would be to register, make sure you are in the show, if you don't qualify you wil receive a refund. We are already over half full!

James, This would be perfect for you. The GT World Challenge event going on, the Vipers on track, this is kind of the side show. The Reunion Team thinks this might be the last big gathering of the people who created this car, we are all getting a little "long in the tooth", and all those who helped make it famous, like the Skip Thomas family, Viper Parts USA, Jon Brobst, Schley Bros, Competition Motorsports, Steve Drayer, on and on, they will all be there. Don't worry about motel issues, if recommended ones are full, this area is used to crowds and with BnB's they handle up to 100K for an event.

Haha! Yeah, for me, it'd be right around the corner No, kidding aside, it'd be a chance to see some distant family again and another reason to convince my wife to go :-)

Bob, thanks a lot for your response. It really does sound like the perfect opportunity. I have it marked in my calendar already, but with travel bans and the international Covid situation, I'm afraid it's too early to be sure I can make it. I hope come Spring I'll know more. I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
