I just realized there's no Viper Ram section on this forum, weird.

I don't routinely follow the market on these but it is rather impressive even with the low miles.
AZ, one of the rarer Viper Trucks. Last year of production and not many regular cabs in ‘06. Did you see the comments, sold in July for almost half the current bid price
I don’t follow them close but at the current $71k I would think this is a record price, or near record for a Viper Truck
Cool to own!!! But 9mpg or lower mpg all day long and they don’t like to tow!!

WOW!
I would sell my '06 4-door for half that !! 36K miles . Metallic Red

sold my 06 and should have kept, Prices have gone crazy on them. No one making short box trucks any more and standard trans
Never driven one but always thought they might be fun. Just a bit too big for Switzerland and only a few on offer with high mileage.

Nope, 16 mpg pretty reasonable expectation for 6 speed regular cab, they will do better than that on highway. Switch to a quad-cab with auto, now you are legitimately talking 9-12 mpg. I usually average about 11.5 in my ‘06 inferno red QC, practically a twin to JonB’s with 34k miles.

Hey guys I stand corrected on mileage!! I know 3 local folks that have them but they are all QC's. They all tell me 9-10 is average and it can get worse

How are they to drive, especially in wet weather conditions? Is it easy and safe with a mellow lead foot, or as "dangerous" as some of those videos on YouTube might suggest? I assume the weight bias towards the front is quite big (big engine up front, light rear in the back). Any major differences between Regular Cab or Quad Cab driving wise (except transmission, of course)? I would love a Quad Cab, but kind of dig the manual transmission a lot more.
1998 Viper GTS
Yup I was referring to the regular cab with the T56 and 4.56 rear gear. It will likely be considered heresy, but I actually find it more fun on the street than my Viper being as that the limits are obviously far lower and it's fun just clowning around at low speed.
Certainly need to be mindful in the wet since it has the quick response of the mechanical throttle, big torque, large footprint and low weight in the rear. I only have two trips in the wet in one and they weren't a long distance.
The truck (an 05) really felt like it woke up with Belanger headers and a retune. If memory serves it knocked 7 tenths off the E/T in the quarter mile. So much fun.

Str, back in the good old days of SRT events (when they had Vipers and all the SRT vehicles to drive), I drove a '04-'05? regular cab on the road course at CA Speedway. It was wild, fast, handled well, great brakes, shifted good, etc.!! But, I felt like I was on a race track driving on a bar stool! Crazy fun!!! I came away really impressed by the handling ability considering the size and weight.

I picked up a 05 SRT10 Ram RC last year with 7600 miles. So happy I did. It’s a blast to drive and great stable mate for the Viper. It still brings a smile when I remember my 16 hour road trip picking it up in Florida and driving it back to Virginia
