    Patina

Came across this a few weeks ago and decided I had to own it. 23K original miles (records back from -55 when a lady bought it in PA) and the interior is all original except for the front seat and carpet. No, all those weird dashboard ornaments are not mine !! Patina is amazing and while I will build a new engine and drive line, the body will be left exactly as is. Cant beat what it took mother nature to create over 66 years.......

Surface rust only. The floor, trunk and frame are all solid

55 Buick Century. This was their 'hot rod'. Smaller body (Special and Century) with the bigger engine they offered. 322cu Nail head

Very cool to find one with such low original miles! The patina looks great and I hope you enjoy it!

The only thing I would do is air suspension and that's it.

I didn’t mention that but absolutely agree. I have a bagged 59 Caddy and also doing a 59 Buick flat top this winter. I really like what these cars look like when on the ground

You got the 4 port holes, indicating the bigger engine. Smaller engine Buick's got 3.

    Update on the 55 Buick.

Just a few miles from getting it into the shop, the engine started smoking like a freight train. Turns out a piston was coming apart. Rather than rebuilding the engine I found another good running 322 and did a complete reseal. I have plans for a different engine down the road so I didn't want to spends to much on this 322. Put a new 700r4 tranny in it. New 9" rear end with 3.70 gears. 2 link rear end (would have to cut into the floor with a 4 link and didn't want to do that). Wilwood discs on all corners. Full Accuair system. New fuel tank and exhaust.

3 row aluminum radiator and an alternator upgrade. Not installed yet but 6.70/15" rubber from Diamonback (radial design with bias ply 'piecrust' look).

This is how she sits right now. On the frame when aired out

Very nice! I have had my eye on a '53 Caddy 2-door hardtop in very similar condition - at least on the outside. Lots of patina - even the same color as your Buick - and all of the chrome, stainless, and glass appears to be intact. It is in a yard off the highway in a remote town in Arizona, sitting with a couple of even older Cadillacs. Haven't been able to catch anyone at the property to ask about selling. Not necessarily discouraged by all of the "no trespassing" and "shoot to kill" signs.
