This will be a test of the market.

1,600 miles -fully documents from Certificate of Origin to prep docs to purchase doc to maintenance.

The Viper is clean - has a couple of marks on the chin as expected - and well presented underneath.

This could be a $130,000 Viper with a $10K bump to $140,000 because of the documents.

Have the dog days of summer crepted in? Has the Viper feeding frenzy been satiated? Are economic concerns starting? Will more collectors entering the market? How many 1996s are left and can pop up for sale?

THANK GOD ITS A 7 DAY AUCTION!

    Going to fun to follow....

It really comes down to if there's two people at the same time that really want the car.....

Bought the car, hardly enjoyed it then died. This should be a lesson - just drive your fricken cars! Once you’re gone, who cares what happens to it!

If I understand the sequence of events, Dennis Collins is selling the Viper after he bought this and a Gen I (1992?) 4-6 months ago from the family. Mr. Koller was the owner of Koller Dodge. He probably drove the wheels off a lot of cars, especially K-Cars after 300 miles .

And to say "hardly enjoyed" is not to know what brought Mr. Koller joy. I have talked with numerous collectors that have more "joy" exuding out of them as the walk around their Vipers and collection than many Viper owners I know.

I have asked multiple Team Viper members who all say "Drive IT!!", did you ever think you would create something that people look at as art like some people enjoy a Picasso or the Mona Lisa?" They have all said no, but they enjoy the thought.

In the end, I attempt to understand a person's passion, not try to force my passion on them. Makes them like me more too. I need all the help I can get

Unless a Gen 1 or 2 Viper sells for 1 million dollars, it was a stupid investment. That's what the MSRP would be worth today if it had been invested. Instead of being used for a mystical sensei prop.

I’m looking at a B/W with less miles than this car right now being sold by the original owner that also has all the documentation from day one. It will be interesting to see what this car pulls.

You're a broken record Captain Obvious. How many years now the same "value" comments?

Why do people assume this is his only vehicle and he sat out in the garage hand rubbing it every night? Some people have lots of cars and this is just one of many. They don't get all teary eyed attached to it.

Here’s a comment about a low mileage Lotus that was posted for sale on a Lotus forum I’m on:

“What a waste of a good car, sitting around for 21 years

he/she would of been better off buying premium bonds, might have had a much better return too”

At least British people get it! Sounds like Dave6666 is on that forum too!

I have never met anyone that had bought a car for an investment, especially a Viper. Most people that buy these and don't drive them have a ton of cars, along with daily drivers and like to collect cars instead of stamps, coins, comic books, wine, baseball cars etc. You can't drive them all.... I have a lot of cars, most sit, I don't leave the house very often, but when I do it's in my 720 or my ACR.

How much? I just bought a Nissan NV van, lifted it, converting to 4x4 so might be selling the H1.
It's got a J auston 5" lift, 43" tires (Had 46", but like the 43's much better 4 wheeling. Custom winch bumpers, custom side steps etc. It only has 7k miles, I'm the original owner. PM me!

Too bad most of the time these cars end up with people with too much money and don’t know what to spend it on instead of people who work hard everyday to save and one day own their dream car - like me!

This was exactly my thought, during that whole video with the family he made it sound like he really wanted to own the Vipers. He never made it sound like he was going to give them a tune-up then re-sell them. I'm really curious what he paid for both cars.

Good for you Dave. "The Viper Garage Queen" owners made tens of millions on equities while you made millions

Every person I know with “too much money” busted their ass, sacriced a lot, reinvested in a business, and pinched a lot of pennies.

They should not discount the time it took you working hard to save & purchase a viper just as you need not dispariage their hard work and wealth. Happiness for others success is an indication of one’s own internal happiness.

The Viper Nation is small and shrinking.

Arizona Vipers pegged it out of the gate!! Great prediction!!! $120,000 and $125,000 with fees.

Trooper75, the auction winner, adding this Viper to a nice delivery miles collection.
    1. Winning bid at approximately 11:00 am and no action for 3 hours 45 minutes.
    2. How many more will he buy at these prices?
    3. How deep are his pockets?

Suetersan, losing bidder, last bid the morning of July 19th (3 days ago) for $116,000. After close of auction, claimed to forget about the auction. REALLY?

Gen2Vipers, the next bidder at $94,000, last bid on July 16th (six days ago). This bidder recently bought a 1996 on BaT in June.

With 756 watchers and 26,100 views, should more have been expected?

At best, there were only (7) bidders. One wanted the Viper. The others were either price support or opportunistic.

In summary, is this the start of a new trend with Viper Gen IIs after doubling or better in value? Collectors have entered the market. Have they bought the Vipers they wanted? Are more collectors behind them?

I am seeing other marks in the last 2-3 weeks not meeting expectations on BaT. Is it summer? Is it people tiring of BaT as the "New Hotness"? Are people just outside now that COVID is not restricting their lives? Are people realizing they are not going to die and resuming measured purchases? Is it economic concerns? Will the price fluffers start getting caught buying cars they were just trying to price boost? Are the opportunistic flippers about to get flipped? Time will tell when we look back.

From here it is up, down, or even for Gen II's, but what about other Vipers and all the banter around Gen V ACREs on other threads....

Regular sales are slowing as well, about the last 10 days.
