    TA Sway bars Installed

I installed a set of TA sway bars on my GTS to go along with my TA spec'd alignment and wholly shit did it make a difference. Any other owners looking to make their snake grab corners even better than it already does this is a quick, easy and inexpensive mod. The only special tool needed is a 3/4 inch ball joint remover to separate the stock bars from the end links. These are an exact fit, the only difference is TA sway bars are solid and weigh 17lbs each and GTS/GT/SRT sway bars are hollow and weigh 10lbs each.

Mark J posted them in a prior thread and said he would get them at a better price than retail

Nice! thanks for posting. Wondering if Mark can post the price? would be interested.

The rear bar retails for $149, I can offer a good discount and post a price, but all that would do is cause other vendors to just cut it further to take the sale. If you would like to purchase anything we sell I am more than fair on pricing and almost always available to you 24/7 (literally) for support with it (or anything else for that matter) just ask our customers who call/txt or email at 11pm on a Saturday night or 7am on a Sunday LOL.

Would there be any benefit to putting them on a Gen 4 ACR?

No the rear TA bar is essentially the same as the ACR solid rear bar already.

That is an informative document, thanks for posting it. I do wonder if the specs on the brake rotor weights are correct.....the GTS rotors seem too light compared to the SRT versions. I wonder if it is a misprint??

If the SRT uses the one-piece rotors and the GTS uses two-piece, that would explain the weight difference right there. The TA rotors are two piece, but have more mass in the rings to prevent brake fade.

Those thinking of doing a TA alignment for road course purposes might want to consider SRT Eric H's recommendation to try to get closer to -2.7 front camber. Production line variances wouldn't allow them to get that much consistently, so -2.5 was chosen, but more is better according to him. Tire wear indicates that would be better even when lots of street miles are racked up, with the extreme outside edges wearing out before the Corsa's tread face.

    Hi Steve,

That is what I understood too, but am surprised to see each TA rotor is 4.6 lbs heavier than the GTS two piece unit....yet the specs show the same diameter and thickness. It appears there is just more rotor face which obviously will weigh more.

From what I've read, the carrier is smaller, and the swept area is larger on the TA rotors, accounting for their increased weight vs the 2 piece Track Pack rotors.

The TA rotors are very similar to the ACRX rotor, and the Track Pack rotors are identical to the ACR rotors, except the carrier color.

The TA rotors are meant to be used for much longer sessions than the Track Pack rotors, hence the extra size and weight.

I had the dealership perform the TA alignment on my SRT before it left the lot.

Would it make sense to go to -2 on the rear camber?

I've also wondered that as the rears wear out on the extreme outer edge as well when tracked. But wear pattern is really only just one factor to consider, and handling and stability might be adversely affected, either because of the suspension itself, or the design of the rear tire. Eric didn't mention increasing rear camber, so I'm assuming he must feel it's optimized already.
