I’ve pulled them off on jack stands and put back on. Never had an issue.

The viper engine weighs 650 lbs. it may be big but it’s quite light compared to cast iron block engines. Even a standard $120 harbor freight stand supports 2000 lbs. I don’t think you should overthink it.

The point is, why pull the engine.

Alex just a thought, Why not check the crank bearings while the pan is off. I’ve seen all your videos and this thing did loose some oil after the hit. Keep up the geat work I have enjoyed watching your progress.

I’ve seen Viper engines on engine stands. They are so long quite a bit of them extends beyond the wheels. Always looks like if you were torqueing heads or mains you could pull it over. Probably not, but just looks bad.

If concerned about leverage you could maybe just use two stands.. one on each end?

      Would this work?

Do you need an engine leveling lifting sling, I have a brand new one. FYI there are OEM brackets that bolt to the engine for attaching to the lifting sling.

Where are you located? I’m in eastern, PA.

I have an engine stand that I haven’t used in 15+ years.

It’s in great shape, but probably not worth shipping.

      Where can I get those?

If you go the harbor freight route get the 2,000 pound capacity engine stand. Their leveler is pretty decent too.

The leveling sling or the oem engine brackets. I will sell the sling for 50% of what i paid for it, it is still in the box. The Dodge engine brackets come from the dealer.

No – Call woodhouse, they did stock them. Look at the engine (left front corner), there is a open bolt hole, one goes there. The other is in the right rear corner.

Bump. I’m pulling my engine in a couple weeks. Does anyone know the part number for these brackets? I think I have seen these exact ones from mopar with a part number online but can’t track them down again.

Hey guys my oil pan is cracked on my viper and I pulled the motor and want to put the engine on a engine stand and rotate it so I can replace the oil pan comfortably. I know these motors are really heavy is there a engine stand you guys can recommend me preferably off amazon so I can get it quick but it doesn’t have to be from amazon. Thanks
