I just wouldn’t do it…Keep it in the car and if pulled over again show it to them and tell them Viper front plates usually fall off. They didn’t pay $100K plus for their car…Too risky for damage at high speeds!!!

Dito, thats what I do also. I keep the front plate in between the consol and the passenger seat, if stopped show plate and give them a story.

Can you say you took it off for a cars and coffee and forgot to put it back on? That’s why it was on the passenger floorboard? Just a thought.

Where about did this happen.. Just curious.

Tried that. She – the Trooper – won't buy it. Had to be ON THE CAR. Comes off at 60 mph 🙂What a T**T, tell her to go find some real criminals:( Just mount an empty tow hook plate-holder and when you get stopped tell the officer it must have flown off…
Oh and post some pics of your car, are the stripes oem?

I have 3 Texas warnings (Canyon) … one Trooper told me I get ticket on the 5th one …
I suggested, just leave us alone, if we pulled for an infraction, just write two tickets …

Ok kids here’s my solution-
IPSCO Front tow hook
1-3/8 cable clamp
1-1/8×1 1/2 aluminum flat barCable clamp clamps to front tow hook. Flat bar bolts to front of cable clamp. License plate Mounts to flat bar. I did have to grind the inside of the cable clamp to fit around the tow hook, also raptor hook and black electrical tape. Cost less than five bucks as long as you’re do you have the tow hook. Ticket signed off, back on the shelf for my until my next one.IMG_2940.jpg

After 15 years without a front plate finally got a warning from Texas DPS. Nice discussion with the trooper about the Viper but still got the warning. My solution: PartsRack front license plate holder for Gen 1-2-3-4. and The Viper Store Gen 5 Tow hook. The PR holder did attach to the front but I was worried about vibration and possible damage. Enter the VS tow hook. Properly positioned the tow hook supports the top of the license plate so it does not move. I placed some “gaffers” tape on the tow hook and the back of the license plate where they make contact for some extra protection. Still looks uglier than sin when attached but keeps DPS away and is easy to remove.
