And anytime you beat a 700rwhp+ mustang is even better. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A few years ago, i was with a friend in his Shelby vert which was putting down about 800rwhp (not sure of all the components, but it had lots of the big buck mods) and he was a VERY CAPABLE driver (about to get comp license at that time) – and frankly, it frightened me. That is just too much HP for the normal suspension setup and mods that were available then. Maybe things have changed now, and they handle a lot better? But the rear end was so loose that i just about asked to get out. Consider that the engine is halfway out over the front wheels, and that explains a lot. The Viper is technically a mid-engine car due to how far the motor sits behind the front wheel center line. The Viper is a racecar for the street, the Mustang is a streetcar that people mod to race. Form follows function issue.

So had a lunch outing with my buddy who’s got a 2015 Vortech Mustang GT putting down about 700+ whp. He’s been talking a lot of smack about how fast he was and of course after lunch we had to do a quick roll race. Lined up from about 40mph and I got the hit. Immediately pulled a car on him and by the top of 3rd was about 2 cars ahead and still pulling. He was amazed at how my car performed even with a 125whp+ advantage. Think I need to add a GoPro to my “to do list” so I can capture these for posterity’s sake. ๐Ÿ™‚

Chalk one up for the good guys!
