I don’t think “auto drop” has any bearing.
My coupe , with windows in the fully up position drop a little when i open the door and snug up when the door is closed.
All tinted side windows touch the weather stripping in most if not all cars.
Professionally installed tinted side windows in my coupe had no issues for the year and a bit that the tint was on, in dry or wet weather.
The tint was applied and shaved with a razor right at the rounded edge of the glass. The door panels where removed and the tint ended about 1.5″ below the window sweeps when in the closed position.
Pro installed tint is nothing like the do it yourself junk I recall playing with as a kid.

      Just my take on it.

So I will be needing to take off the door panels then. That works. I’m having a shop do the tint, I just wanted to know if I needed to do any prior prep work.

If it’s any halfway decent tint shop, just drop the car off, then pick it up and enjoy the new look. Never had any issues with my vert.

So, the installers I know in the area always say not to roll the windows down for a few days after installing the tint. Question I have, on the vert the windows have an auto drop. Is there a special procedure for tinting the windows on the car?
