After putting a flaming piece of shit spec stage 3 clutch in my SW20 MR2 @300whp, and letting go within 1500km, I vowed never to touch there products again. Go with one of our sponsors, BBG twin disk.

The OEM clutch was holding just fine in my last supercharged 06′ (700whp) with 25k miles on it. Before spending the money on a new clutch, see how you like the stock set-up. It might surprise you. Keep in mind I didn’t do a lot of hard launches.

We offer a very nice custom dual disc modular clutch made custom for us by McLeod. It uses a special friction material called “meba”, can hold 1000hp and has very nice engagement. Have Todd give me a call and I can go over it with him. I have tried all the clutches out there and have found this setup to be best, its quiet and smooth and does not break.

Just curious because knowing me, I’ll let Todd talk me into: hey since you’re forging it, might as well put *fill in supercharger or turbocharger here* in it and get some real power out of it! Also how much chatter can I expect out of the Mcleod? Thanks for the input!

Go with one of our sponsors, BBG twin disk.I had a Spec Stage 5 single plate clutch on my G37 (running around 600whp) and the pressure plate broke after a little abuse on the drift track. It wasn’t the best drive either. I was not expecting more out of it given its price however.

Ok first: screw the search function… I can’t find what I need, sue me.
Second: My car is only going to see about 600-650rwhp N/A *for now… we all know how this starts* and I’m new to vipers so my question for you: What experience with these cars maxed out on N/A power levels, and clutches have you had? What works best? I’ve had plenty of high horsepower v8’s before, but nothing approaching the torque these cars put out at low rpms… I’d rather go overboard and have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Third: Flywheels? Never been a big fan of lightweight flywheels, because rotating mass bla bla bla again, v8 school of thought here, so I need some “unlearning” and I’m open to any suggestions. Like I said, I’m new to Vipers, and am approaching all this from the v8 side of things, which I believe is just gonna end up !@&king me… Your thoughts on light weight flywheels?
For those of you who haven’t seen my threads, here’s a list of what’s done, and what’s being done in the summer.
K&N Intake
Stage 3 CNC Ported heads from A&C Performance
Comp Coupe Cam *708*
Hurst short throw shifter
Quaife Rear with 3.73’s
Unitrax half shafts
Mopar race exhaust *catless, nothing fancy*What’s going to be done:
A&C Performance: Custom cam, Custom headers *currently in R&D phase at A&C*, forged pistons and rods, shaved block/heads to up compression
Clutch/flywheel?????? *this is where y’all come in*
3.55 gearsEnd result: 600+rwhp until I decide I need more, then who freaking knows where this will end… *sigh*
