I've got the front plate mount from Viper Parts Rack on my 04. The hooks on the bracket are about 1/4 short of clipping on the back side of the grill to lock the plate holder in place. Is this normal? Is friction enough to keep the plate on?They should clip around the center of the cross in the middle.. I wouldn’t trust just friction. Are you talking 1/4 inch or 1/4 of the way there? I don’t ‘wear’ mine often, but I recall it takes a little pressure to get them all the way around.
Also heard a good story from someone once who had mounted the plate on the brackets upside down, in which case it didn’t reach around the center section…

Make sure you have the on the correct way (as in, it isn’t currently upside down). The top and bottom both clip in place, and should hold tightly.

its about 1/4″ from “clipping” behind the grill sections. If I force the tops to clip in place the bottoms are about 1/2″ from clipping in place.

I think you have it on upside down.

Thanks for the input guys. Ended up cleaning the flash off the inner radius and hooks. Fits great now
