do the 2000s not have the adjustable pedals with the little knob underneath the steering wheel on the knee panel?

Partsrack sells a gas pedal extension. I have adjustable pedals on my car but due to my prosthetic leg, I had to have a custom clutch pedal machined that was thicker (because I don’t have an ankle to work the clutch and needed just that one pedal closer) but it seems like the same solution would work for you too, albeit for different reasons. Call Jon B at partsrack and tell him about your wife having an issue reaching the pedals. He helped design my clutch pedal and then recommended the person who did the machining. He should be able to help you with this. Also, you aren’t the first person to have this issue. So ask him if the solution we did for my clutch pedal would work for all your pedals.

They also make a seat lowering kit for tall people. Perhaps you could “reverse engineer” the lowering kit to raise the seat a bit for your wife? Just a thought. But it might work. Jon has been around Vipers since they hit the road and has has helped people on both ends of the height spectrum, or in my case, the number of leg spectrum : ) drive vipers. So see if he has any ideas for you.

Congratulations on your dream car. There is nothing quite like viper ownership,

I purchased a 2000 GTS that was a one owner, and that owner was an older lady that was maybe 5’2″. She adjusted the pedals all the way up and the seat forward and then had the steering wheel tilted almost all the way down. She drove it 129K miles in that configuration and didn’t believe in cruise control. I am 5’7″ and have the pedals almost all the way forward and the seat back several clicks. I, however, am a wuss and love cruise control; if I take it on any long trips my calf starts screaming after about an hour behind the wheel.

Drove from Arizona to New Orleans and back without cruise control. It’ll make a man out of you. 22k miles in 3 years. Don’t need no stinking cruise control!

How tall are you guys? I’m trying to find a driving position that feels good on long distances for my right leg. I can drive without cruise in my Volkwagen Golf but the gas pedal seems easier to operate and I don’t feel like my leg is contorted in an unnatural position.

I have an ’01 GTS and I find the most comfy position is seat all the way back and then move the pedals forward to be able to reach. I am just a tick under 6′ tall. Just go out and drive lots and try different postions. You’ll find something that works 😀

      Greetings All
My wife just bought a 2000GTS, she’s been lusting after one for 15 years. Now I am figurIng out how to set up a car for a 5’2″ light framed woman!
I’ve been turning wrenches for years, so this is right up my alley.
      Should be fun!

      Regards
      Robert Miller
