That is a great story and it is great that it is in such a nice home. I traded in my 1999 black RT-10 roadster almost a year ago on a 2014 adrenalin red GTS coupe. As nice as the newer car is I still remember the 9 years I owned the RT-10 and the 50,000 + miles I put on it. They are really head turners. Enjoy your new acquisition.

Good Deal your gonna love Owning a Viper. My first piece of advice, since he probably never changed the tires with that low mileage, BUY NEW TIRES ASAP…They might look fine but are most likely dry rotted and you will lose control and crash, trust me, I spun mine 3 times.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yes the tires are original and will be gone shortly as I have 19″ F14 Forgestar wheels on the way. I truly do love this car! I have owned a hand full of muscle cars in my life and some with a lot more power then the Viper but this car is hands down the funnest to drive and is a head turner for sure.

Nice looking car man, congrats! new owner here also. It is crazy how everyone (maybe more so of the gen 1 and 2 owners) has a story about how they fell in love with these cars at a younger age and now made it happen. Pretty neat to think about actually.

Very cool and love the story. Many of us fall into a similar story which is how we tend to connect so well.

Congrats on your purchase! As said, many of us saw the Viper as our dream car while in school and vowed to get it one day. Treat her well!

Great story! Love the car and respect its power. But most of all, get out there and drive! Glad you were able to reconnect with your dream car.

Great story, mine is similar. I went to the 1989 auto show just to see it. This year I finally put a 1997 GTS in my garage. Should be a great summer.

The weather in Michigan has finally turned so I’ve had a chance to get her out and put some miles on her and take some updated pictures. The modifications I have done are as follows. Forgestar F14’s in gunmetal color with black lug nuts from Tony at DV8 motoring, 19×11 fronts with 295/35/19 Michelin Super Sports, 19×13 rears with 345/30/19 Michelin Super Sports, 1/2″ lowering caps from Parts Rack, Roe Racing SCT tuner, smooth tubes, K&N filters, 170 thermostat, Roe Racing hi flow cats, Borla touring 4 muffler system, 373 rear gears with yellow box spedo calibrator, EBC redstuff ceramic pads, smoked tail lights, blinkers, front marker lights. I’m very happy with how it all turned out. The exhaust sounds incredible not obnoxious, my only complaint is the tips stick out to far which I’m addressing soon by pulling them in 1″. The 373 gears made a huge difference and pairing them with the 19’s are effectively a 3.55 ratio. I’m reposting one picture that I posted when I joined VOA just to show the before and after. Great story, upgrades look wonderful. I am not sure about shortening the exhaust pipes. They look fine where they are. You might accumulate less crap on the rear facia if you leave them as is. Enjoy the car!! :drive:

I’ll keep this as short as possible lol. 1992 was my senior year in high school and of course was obsessed with the all new Viper. Instantly it was 1 of my 2 all time dream cars the other being a replica AC Cobra thinking neither would ever be attainable. Fast fwd to the year 2000 and a very close father like friend of mine (37 years older then me lol) bought a new black 2000 RT 10. I loved that car and told him one day I would end up buying the car from him. In 2011 with 5000 miles on it he offered it to me for 39k and of course the time wasn’t right with 3 young kids so I saddly had to watch another person end up with my dream car. Fwd to this fall and I found the car for sale again locally with only 8700 miles I knew it was now or never to buy a Viper that I had known all the history about so after a couple of weeks of negotiations I got the car for 31k. I’m still in denial that this thing is in my garage lol. The front fascia had some curb rash on it so I had it removed and re painted and at that time I decided to debadge the front and rear emblem. I have some plans in the works already with wheels, springs, exhaust, thermostat, tuner and some other small things. I have been trolling this forum for weeks now and finally registered yesterday. It has helped me a lot with some ideas for the car. I will post updates with pictures as things progress.
