      Alex

Thanks for your support and mentioning this to the other region presidents. I know with the renewals coming in it’s everyone’s first priority to get them in. And then we had the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays at the same time. I think Alex and the rest of the national members and my co presidents did an awesome job with encouraging the members to renew. Most of you don’t know me. I become very passionate with a cause that I believe in… probably to passionate on this one. I just wanted to reach out and help those in Gatlinburg that have reached out to help us. We get a lot of support from the local police dept and when one of our members became unconscious we had the EMS respond very quickly to ensue he was okay So if I came on to strong let me apologize (as Alex knows) I don’t do this often. Alex had a hard job trying to keep 30 egos in check… wouldn’t want his job. Again thanks to all of you who have helped. The goal is to Helen these four families and if the club can gain a little recognition at the same time that’s great. As I told Alex I didn’t want the club to look bad when 125 or Vipers parade thru Gatlinburg and we did not put out best effort and only collected a few thousand dollars. Thanks for you valuable time in reading this and my previous threads

Sorry about the wording I was typing on my iPhone. I have enough of a problem when I use a full screen.

I can bump on Social media in a few days… see if we get any more donations. Just curious Jeff do you mind saying where we are $ wise in the fundraiser?

Our some of my guys have already talked about a donation coming from the Oklahoma Region and we will collect funds for the cause at our Holiday party Jan 28th. I hope this will not be to late, if it is please let me know.

Scott, that would be great we can wait until then. Steve said the holidays is a bad time as many members are on vacation. Kayla that would be great is there any way it could be “pinned” under the upcoming Tail of the Dragon is in a the VOA FB. So it does not fall down in the threads. Give me a little time on the amount and I will give a breakdown by regions. I won’t post the amounts just state who is in what position for the banner giveaway. The total is approximately $2800 with about 24 induvidual donations. Our average donation is over $100. A whole lot higher than I imagined.

I wanted to send out a note on this, and forgive me if I’m addressing this fundraiser and can’t do the same every time we have a fundraiser within a region (that would be a lot of emails…). But I wanted to do what we could to help the Gatlinburg fundraiser for first responders. The Carolinas club is doing what they can to raise money for a decent cause, and while it doesn’t touch other regions directly, we are going to be in their area for a Bucket List event and it would be good if the VOA managed to make an impact.

Jeff posted recently of the effort, it can be found here. If you’d care to share with your members, it would be a good thing. I’ll leave it up to you guys. Thanks everyone!
