It’s a GoPro Hero 4 Black. Combine that with the data from the SoloDL lap timer and that was the outcome. Works pretty well and isn’t overly complicated.

Does the SoloDL come with software for overlaying the data onto a video or how do you do that?

No, it does come with pretty good software, Race Logic, if memory serves me right, but doesn’t do video. You can analyze almost anything you want on it, tons of data. But I think the package I use is called Race Render, it’s pretty easy to use, select the video file, select the data file, it combines them into a project. You then configure what gauges you do or don’t want, or select multiple videos from various angles. The only thing that takes the time is syncing the video to the data, which is not bad once you get used to it. And it has several tools to help you do that too. Then just output the video.

thanks for sharing and i cant believe how small the crowd is. My only track day was at RA.
Man, The video is perfect and I will definitely be using that setup in the future.
      Great driving too, very smooth!

Hey, we are almost neighbors 🙂

Thanks man, this was a rescheduled track day and I don’t think many people could reschedule. It didn’t end up being that many at all and it was a clear track day. It was nice to be able to learn a new track without having to worry about a lot of cars in the way or wanting you to move. Maybe we’ll see each other at some of the events.

I’m sure we will. A friend is a big time Chin supporter and I will likely stay there but wouldn’t mind trying other orgs just for available track days.

Ran with my normal group, Performance Driving Experience, at Road Atlanta on April 10th. First time at this track and didn’t have insurance so I took it a little slower than usual. Still had a ton of fun. A Lambo had just gone off track, so they black flagged everyone and brought them in, so I cranked up some tunes in the pits. You can see the Lambo at the beginning of the video after they let everyone back out. I forgot to turn down the music, so I rocked out to some Octane while driving. Overall a really fun track, that last blind corner going down to Start/Finish is a bit unnerving until you get used to it and just know that there is a road over the hill! It wasn’t crowded at all and made for a lot of clean laps.
