Just traded in my 2014 SRT GC for the 2017. Love the subtle changes and that there is very little chrome left on the vehicle. Added xpel and darkened the rear lights.Love, love, love the black/black. I love the spider monkey wheels in black!
The change with the jeeps isn’t unlike the Vipers – I had the same experiences. I had the 2009, it was quick (and cheap – I think $50K). Then got the 2012 when it came out as that was the big model change. While everything went up in quality (including price) it was however slower than the previous, it didn’t have the same jump and really died on the highway compared to the old one (which also was already weak at higher highway speeds). Then of course they release the 2014 with the 8 speed and other tweaks – wish I knew sooner…. : ) So then I ended up trading the 2012 and getting the latest generation like you. They were nearly identical – but it was certainly a BIG difference, the trans was amazing and I’d say it’s actually a fairly quick vehicle now. It was shockingly faster than the previous gen. I remember Ralph G was telling me “you’re going to want to upgrade”. He was right.
And now as scott pointed out, with the hellcat engine… I am first in line. But I can say I’ve lost more on trades/depreciation on these jeeps than on the vipers in the same time period.
The last one was fulfilling, it had good grunt. I went with red, I now wish I went with black after seeing yours!

Just be aware that the 2018 model will introduce the hellcat motor option.Ya, I’m considering trading this one in on one of those depending on the price up here.

Sounds like you and I went through the same situation. I had a 2012 and when the 2014 came out with the 8 speed I knew it would be worth the upgrade. I loved the 2014 and it had been good to us for the last 3 years. I got a really good deal on the 2017 and our tax laws were changing here in April so I jumped on getting the 2017 before the trackhawk came out. Oh ya the depreciation is bad the last 3 years but its an addiction lol.
