Thanks all for the info and comments, all. I’ll send pics as soon as I physically get it(still working out shipping from from across the country).

Congrats, Max! I just bought my B&W 97 GTS about 2 months ago, so I’m in the same boat as you are! With the help of several on here, I’ve already gotten my car back up to reliable daily driver staus. Tons of very knowledgeable people on here. Don’t hesitate to ask for help, advice on what to do when you have problems, and anything else you may need. Welcome and enjoy!

      Hello All

Just closed the deal on my dream car since I first saw one pacing the Indy 500 live in 1996: A 96 B/W with pace car graphics! It only has about 11k miles and, while it appears to have been loved, it unfortunately does not come with any service records and presumably has sat for a while before arriving at my doorstep. I want to make sure the car is in good mechanical shape maintenance-wise for the remainder of the Chicago summer(i.e. probably about another week), and I have been reading around the forum and it seems like a fluid change is my best bet. My question to you all as the experts is:

-Out of Tranmission, diff, collant, clutch, brake, & power steering, are there some(or all) I should have the dealer do? Or are there some that are suited for a novice mechanic(i.e. I have changed oil before)? My local dealer (with a viper tech)quoted me $650. If I could do it at home, would I even save that much?

Thanks in advance for any guidance and look forward to joining the Viper family!

      -Max
