      I know the teams in GTD weren’t a fan of them relative to Michelin and Pirelli slicks haha. I agree that’s a curious load rating if it’s too the same standard as DOT rubber.

      I got an answer from one of the product manager at Continental. That load rating figure is a static rating to determine the spring rate of the tire itself.

      Yes, there were issues with the tires last year, the wet tires especially. They have supposedly addressed those issues with the current tire. We’ll see. I’m only interested in the wets and not for serious competition so they should be more than adequate for me.

      Anybody run the Continental race slicks and/or the rain tires? They make a rain tire that’s the perfect size but the 700lb per tire load rating has me concerned. This tire is for the IMSA GTD cars which weigh in at ~2700lbs. They have to be exceeding that load rating when you factor in driver, downforce, and banked tracks.
