PM Mark J. He’s got a buddy in Tampa he trusts. Let me warn you to not let anyone who is not intimately familiar with Vipers attempt your alignment. They can absolutely screw it up and make it VERY difficult to get back correctly. At the very least you want to be with them and the car when its done. MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT ADJUST THE ECCENTRIC BOLTS ON THE FRAME SIDE OF THE REAR TIRE ROD ENDS. ONLY THE TURNBUCKLE SHOULD BE USED FOR REAR TOE ADJUSTMENT. . This will screw up your rear dynamic toe (nasty bump steer) and its involved to set back up correctly; requiring removing the rear shocks and sways and plotting the toe at different suspensions sweep locations on a graph (+50mm and -50mm from normal ride height).

Also, you’ll need a set of specialized tools to set the rear CASTER. Most cars cant set rear caster.. Viper can. Alignment machine readouts dont show a rear Caster value.. so you have to watch (or trust), that they are checking it and setting it correctly. As mentioned this involves a set of specialized brackets and an inclinometer. I bought a set.. although old SRT dealers that were authorized to sell and service Vipers should have the correct tools in their tool room. Just no telling in the coming years if those will get lost or misplaced and we wont be able to get them.

These tires are huge so little alignment differences have a sizable influence on the steering and feel. Lots of people have a preference on what they like..

If youre not getting weird tire wear.. or the car pulling.. or steering wheel crooked… I’d just leave it alone. If not done correctly it can open up a hornets nest of things that need to be sorted.

OP, there is a Viper Tech in North Orlando. I would for certain take a half day and go out there to him. His name.is Alex and is well known on here.

I second the recommendation on Alex. I think he’s around Sanford but he knows these cars extremely well.

I had Crown Motorsports in Pinellas Park do my alignment. Also, there are 2 very trustworthy Viper techs that I’m friends with: 1 at Dayton Andrews in Clearwater (James) and 1 at Suncoast in Seminole (Dave, who is also a Gen V owner).

Great thread. Larry Macedo took mine (GEN-II) to Porsche of Orlando probably 12-13 yrs ago to do mine after a coil over swap. I guess it turned out OK….never have done a thing with it since.
