      I would contact Racelogic support to determine if they have a CAN database for the specific Gen viper in question.

      So i did find the database online and its just for gen 5 vipers. But i guess my questions is if it can take OBDII data on a vehicle without a canbus. They have an OBD wireless module but it says:

      “Please note: The OBD Bluetooth Module is only able to detect signals that are present on the CAN bus, which is dictated by the vehicle manufacturer.”

      That makes me think that it won’t add any OBD data. It seems if your car isn’t on your list, you cant pull any information from your car. Can anyone confirm that?

      Basically i’m trying to figure out if i’m just buying a ridiculously expensive gps/camera system or if it’d still be useful without that info….or if id be better off with something like the new garmin that came out.

      You are correct, the version online is Gen V. Suggest calling their support line to open a ticket. They can research internally or through contacts in SRT whether the Gen V dB will also work on the previous Gen.

      As for the comment whether to spend the $$$ on the HD2, you want to compile a list of items you want to log and compare against a list Racelogic can provide, assuming they have a Gen 2 or 4 version CAN-DB.

      Just tell them your Gen 2 has a JTEC controller and they will tell you if, or what signals it can process.

      I’m looking for some information on what I would need to buy along side the VBOX HD2 (cables and what not) to pull the best info from a 97 viper and an 09 acr and what data i can expect. Everything i’ve seen on these is for a gen 5 viper.

      Does anyone out there use this setup on a gen 2 or gen 4??
