There is a critical need for an all-presidents and all-candidates Zoom meeting after the candidates are announced on October 16th and before we are required to vote by October 31st.

The nomination period was extended so that candidates could get up to speed on the club and now the presidents need to hear directly from the candidates as to their vision of the club and their roles within it.

Let’s recognize that we don’t know if we have found a solution to the financial crisis, and won’t know for some time if the changes put in place will work or fail. We have no back-up plan. New leadership will need to be ready to be decisive on Day 1. This is not a simple hand-off from one leadership team to the next.

It was said that it would be up to the new leadership to deal with the situation after Jan 1st and I think we all need to hear from, and have the opportunity to question, each candidate to properly evaluate whose hands we want to place the future of the VOA and our regions in.

Officer candidates will be presented to the board via email on October 16th after the nomination period closes on the 15th. The voting portal will also be open between 10/16 and 10/31 for the presidents to vote on the candidates with the election results presented on November 1st to the board via email first and then to the membership.

All meetings will begin at 8 p.m. eastern time

I thought we sent the 2nd meeting zoom recording out already but will ask Ed to send it out a.s.a.p.

Those are actually Saturdays.

An October meeting would also be timely for leadership to ask the president’s for feedback from their region’s boards and members about the changes announced for 2022. And renewal progress should be reported to the presidents, especially considering that opening of renewals on Oct 1st was important.

The impact of the changes on membership were not studied and evaluated before they were proposed and implemented, and the presidents that voted for them didn’t either.

Does anyone think we should evaluate early feedback in case a course correction needs to be considered? If a change is required, the time to do it is now, if things look to be okay then that will be great to know, and to then continue to monitor it monthly.

Thank you for scheduling the meeting with the candidates last evening. It was invaluable in getting to know all of them much better so we can cast our votes with confidence.
