Should maybe make my own thread, but has anyone tried ACR spring rates on TA shocks?Way too stiff. Those rates aren’t to make the car handle better, even on the ACR with aero, they are way too stiff. They are that stiff just so the car doesn’t bottom out at high speed. I dropped my rears from 1300 to 1100 and car was faster on track, I was able to get on full throttle much sooner. Totally changed the handling of the car for the better, but now I do bottom out and it’s caused some small damage which I don’t care about on a track car, check it out- https://www.instagram.com/p/COqEi6LlRKj/
If you wanted to experiment, maybe go from 240/600 to 400/900 and compare your lap times on a track you have hundreds of laps on. When you start getting up there in spring rates you really should have shocks with adjustable compression/rebound… -
+1. Underdamped cars are not fun. They oscillate like an old car that has worn out shocks (because they too are under damped).
I had my DSC controlled overheat and fail (Corvette) and my dampers were at full soft for the whole session (so under damped). Man, that was not fun. Very unpredictable, very dangerous. Given how much stiffer ACR springs are, eeesh, I wouldn’t go there. They’re super stiff so you won’t have the huge ranges of travel like when “regular” springs have blown dampers, but it will oscillate. It won’t be good in chicanes. Plus, stiffer suspension isn’t better, as pointed out above. You want a good amount weight transfer and loading up the suspension.
I’d much rather over damped than under damped.
Not sure what its range is, but maybe a cheap solution would be a DSC controller if you have the bimode shocks.

I have a set of ACR dampers I want to try on the TA.

Arizona, did you work with a specific dealer of theirs? Or called them up directly?

I’ve got a Gen V TA suspension that I never installed. I guess after the rise in values of these cars I have had second thoughts of turning mine into a TA clone for track use. I’ve got the 4 shocks in pretty much mint condition that were from a very low mileage TA.
I’ll get pictures sent but it’s all boxed up so have to do that.
