One of our customers came to us with a request to take what we have done already to his current 5th gen viper ACR daily driver/ track car and bring it up to the next level…. Daily driver/open track test car. The idea and purpose for all the work is to allow him to drive to the track and run at any open track test day so he can get more seat time rather then waiting for open track events on weekends. Daily driver/open track test car is not an easy request. “Open track test days” means exactly that “open track”. The car will be running with purpose built racecars anything from formula cars, GT cars, LMP cars, vintage racecars, stock cars, professional teams to grass roots. This also means the car must pass tech so its being built to specs that will allow it to pass tech inspection for FIA, SCCA, PWC GT Cars.
Currently we are just finishing up the cage. Then installing a Kevin Singleton from exotic engines de-stroked v10 with ITB making 950-1000HP. Trans will be a holinger RD6 close ratio w/bump shifter; Little hairy for the street but the holingers are so bomb proof and low maintenance ( if your nice to them) they are a great match for the HP and the application we have. Brakes we will use the factory carbon rotors and calipers CHEAP AND GOOD. Only big mechanical change to the brakes we will add a pedal box for adjusting brake bias which also offers more positive brake feel for driver. Some more aero and electronic improvements to come.
At the core the car will still be a street driven dodge viper ……With a few little tweaks here and there.
