NVE5 in Colorado Springs, Colorado is our premier national event, and the NVE5 committee has been working hard to put together something amazing. [/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]Here are a few headlines for January.[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]Legacy Membership:[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]One change that was approved by the board this month is a new membership level – Legacy Member. This will allow previous Viper owners to join the club or renew their membership if they no longer have a Viper. We understand our friends may be getting older and no longer drive the Viper, or may sell the car and be shopping for another in the future.[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]We have been hearing from regions and individuals that some previous members want to stay involved in the club. The Viper brings us together and the VOA wants to keep us together.[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]This new membership level is going to be added to national bylaws to open it up as an option. Each region will have the option to accept legacy members or not. The dues for Legacy members will match standard and mamba membership fees.[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]Regional/National Dues:[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]For 2023, The VOA has revised our regional/national split to 50/50 on a Standard membership. We are now giving $75 per member back to the region, providing more funds for your local activities. In 2022, national sent $55 per member and retained more to help stabilize the club financials. I am happy to say after one year of dedication and focus, the board has got us back to 50/50.[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]International Membership Update:[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]
[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]This month we approved a new international rate. We will collect $80 for Standard and $155 for Mamba membership, and will not send any money back to the international regions. This matches the arrangement we’ve had with Japan’s region since the beginning of the club: we only collect for our operating costs and the region manages its own funding for local events. Adopting this strategy for all international regions will allow us to operate with less money going back and forth through exchange rates, save international members money, and reduce administrative time. International members who already paid the $150 and $195 for 2023 will get reimbursed to be in alignment with this new program.[/LEFT][/LEFT] [LEFT][LEFT]

If you have any trouble, contact your region president. The first round of welcome letters for 2023 will be going out in mid-February, and you’ll be seeing the first Quarterly magazines in April.
