Question:
Does anyone have any suggestions for access to the clutch interlock on a 1994 RT-10? My shoulders are twice as wide as the footwell even if I took the seat out. Plus I’m coming up on 74 years old. Even with the floor mat pulled back, my car is becoming a little problematic. I have a new switch on the way and I would also be ok with jumper wiring the pigtail. Either one requires access up under the dash. Is there a better place to jumper the Red and Yellow-Red wires? Any advice is greatly appreciated…
Answer by Dan Cragin:
Most likely the issue is the clutch pedal shaft nylon bushings are bad and the pedal is moving to the side, not allowing enough travel to engage the clutch interlock switch.
The clutch pedal should not have any significant play, side to side. If it does the bushings should be replaced.
