      More info on European Vipers:

      By BazUK:
The Euro cars as far as I could find out over the years

More restrictive exhaust with only pre cat 02 sensors

Air box restricted with inline baffles on tubes to Throttle bodies

      Different tune on ECU /PCM

Rear fogs in rear clusters operated by a double pull headlight switch

Headlights re wired for white running lights and separate indicators

Side markers in front bumper bulbs removed

      KPH speedos

      New stereos

We did a dyno day years ago and found euro vipers that had full exhaust smooth tubes Gained really good numbers. Can’t remember if the top of my head but was very close to the equivalent US spec cars.

      Hope this helps

      By Dan Cragin:
he European spec cars had a separate parking light module, metric gauges, an air box with internal baffles, a more restrictive exhaust system and
      different engine controller calibration.

Question: I just bought my first Viper, a 1998 Chrysler Viper GTS (and thereby fulfilling a 26-year old dream of one day owning a Viper). It’s labeled “Chrysler” and not “Dodge”, as Dodge was not officially marketed here in Switzerland. Now, the European Vipers have less horsepower; I assume it had to do with stricter emission standards. Do you have any information on how exactly the “Gen. II US Viper” differs from the “Gen. II European Viper”? Any insight would be much appreciated.

      Cheers,
      James

Answer by Dan Cragin: Euro spec Viper’s for 1998 had an Engine controller with revised fuel and timing, a more restrictive
air intake box and a much more restrictive rear exhaust system.

Comment by Chuck Tator: James I suggest you get a hold of Barry [Baz] Adams in the UK for more info about your Viper. viper3908@hotmail.com
      Congrats on filling a dream!
