Question:
I just recently tried to take my Viper out of storage and my clutch goes straight to the floor. I am unable to shift. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you – Eric
Answer by Chuck Tator:
A couple of things to check: Be sure the clutch rod from the clutch master cylinder is attached to the clutch pedal. Check the level in the clutch reservoir [DOT 4 brake fluid]. Look for a puddle of fluid under the bell housing or a drip hanging off the bell housing. If you see fluid there, the clutch slave cylinder is leaking and it will need to be replaced. Transmission needs to come out to replace the slave cylinder and at the same time I would replace the clutch master cylinder. If it is original, it’s 19 years old. While the trans is out, check your clutch for ware and lube the pilot bearing.
Hope this helps?
