So far we have 99 individuals and 52 Vipers signed up for the Tail of the Dragon. Although, early bird registration is over we are still accepting registration payments until middle of next week. After the middle of next week we have to give the company making the t-shirts enough lead time to compete our order. Below is a rough outline of events:

….Most folks come in on Thursday and we’ll have a couple of suggestions for places to eat – or you can join us. Friday is all about the Dragon. We usually have a group meet up in Knoxville for anyone coming in Friday morning. Last year we had two groups – one left the hotel and ran a “backwards” route to Tellico Plains that went through Townsend, down to parkway and then to Vonore and then back roads to Tellico Plains. The other group went through Pigeon Forge down the interstate to Knoxville. All groups usually meet in Tellico Plains for the run to the Dragon somewhere around 11 am. Running the Dragon and back to the hotel takes a bit over 3 hours depending on the group you run with. We have a dinner planned for Friday night – included in your registration – at the hotel. It will be Tex-Mex with a cash bar. After dinner, most folks hit the strip. Saturday we are planning a cruise to Fontana Village for lunch. Probably leave the hotel around 8-8:30 am if we can work out a police escort. After leaving Fontana, we will do the Dragon again and head back to the hotel. The famous Parade of Vipers through Gatlinburg (ending at the Cherokee Grille) takes place around 6:00 pm with cars lining up about 1/2 hour before the parade starts. After dinner, most folks return to the hotel to continue the party and probably tell a few lies about the Dragon or other events. Sunday is a travel day.

Remember registration includes dinner Friday night, a t-shirt, commemorative coin, and other goodies. We also have some amazing door prizes to give away Friday night including a helmet signed but the Viper team, a night’s stay at the hotel, dinner at the Cherokee Grille and other goodies.
