And here are the meeting minutes from the board meeting porting of our gathering.
-
Things went off without a single hitch, we accomplished everything we needed to and had some fun distractions to make this enjoyable. While some are certainly still heading home, I want to first and foremost thank all of you for making the journey. We had over FIFTY people with us (and some were from club regions outside of the US), truly very well represented, thank you so much for being an easy crowd to move around, we hit a lot of locations. I hope you had a good time, got a lot out of it, and took advantage of the location to have a little vacation while you were there.
Among both the work and the fun, we also did some previewing of the next NVE locations (Hotel components, Shelby, Las Vegas Speedway, etc…). From the feedback I’ve gotten, it seems like we have a pretty concrete plan and this should indeed fulfill people’s wishes. As you know, I didn’t want to also take the whole group to Shenandoah, the Wayne Newton property (given our days were long enough). The national officers and the NVE planning group took that trip after our meetings were done. My God, this ended up being even better than we could have ever anticipated – I sense that folks would have been happy spending another couple hours doing this even after all of our other stops – your jaw would have dropped. We were floored, I’ll explain in more detail as the event continues planning, but this will be one of the high points of NVE3 – for sure.
As promised, I want to provide the PDF version of our Board Meeting as well as all 5 of the VOA University presentations. We’ve built them so that they’ll be understandable even if you weren’t there. For those who didn’t attend, please read through everything so you can get some benefit. As with everything we do, none of this is confidential. However, some content may not be fit to share with others as they weren’t part of the full discussion, but feel free to SUMMARIZE and share where you see fit. Though, please avoid detailed discussion about NVE (both NVE3 & NVE4), as both are evolving and we also want to keep people in suspense!
Our board meeting minutes will follow shortly, as our secretary has a long trek back home (driving), we’ll certainly post those later. A huge thank you to all of the speakers who helped me present the content – Beth Sewell, Brad Homen, Bob White, and Maurice Liang. A special thanks to Sandi White and Bob who even brought merchandise and setup the mini VOA store, it provided a special surprise to all attendees and also allowed a preview of some new items. and thanks to all the little helpers along the way who fill in gaps and just make things run smooth. This is how things should work, proud to lead such a great group!
With that, we’ll bring this chapter to a close. We’ll look to get together again physically in 2 years, but we’ll have some board meetings by phone along the way. All presentations are below.
Great memories. Thanks everyone!
