Hey Andras, that’s insane. That’s a good size group from that distance!
The club initially planned to do a large scale cruise and dinner the day before the event so we could add another day of fun. We also planned special T-shirts for all attendees. However, due to the late notice with FCA (announcements were supposed to happen 6 months ago), this is hard to put something together in 3 weeks because we’d have venues to scope, routes to develop, registration to do, shirt sizes to collect, contracts to sign, etc.. and of course it also requires people to get back to use with info and it’s just too short a time to do all that. So unfortunately we can’t do something on the scale we were hoping.
Ironically, I won’t be able to go myself (and I’m not happy about it). We actually already scheduled a trip to Vegas with others to conduct the next levels of NVE3 planning/walkthroughs. I coordinated 14 vendors to meet with and have a long schedule we already agreed on that we just can’t change without great pain. Then we hear this date released weeks ago… Ugh.
Our magazine will be there to cover it and I’m sure the group will have fun and post lots of pics. I see some of the local regions planning smaller get togethers so I’m sure as we get closer some of that will become better known. If all else fails, you know how Viper owners are, they tend to have fun no matter what they do as a group – but I think it’s a good idea to find some local stuff to tack on, particularly

We have a few people going to Detroit from Crossroads, possibly 2 are driving their cars. I’m flying, others are driving their daily. I was told, if you drive your Viper, you will be able to park with the rest of the Vipers, even if you have a “general parking” ticket. Not sure how it will work about the picture they will take, though.
I thought you will be able to purchase tickets for the Roadkill event, as spectators. We will look forward to meeting up with you, all. Safe travels and see you soon!Cheryl

Unfortunately we at the local VOA Region got caught with the lack of information by FCA too. All of our resources have been devoted to the Dream Cruise Week, the week after the 25th Anniversary, and it’s too late to scramble and try to get something organized for the diverse group that is coming in. We’re bummed about it.
However, you will be able to attend the Roadkill event. Tickets will be available at the gate for $10, or you can go online and buy advance tickets if you want to be 100% sure. The Roadkill is right on Woodward and there will plenty of car action on that street over the weekend. Look for the Vipers cruising or parked by the side of the road – we’ll all be happy to show you a good time!

I will be driving our Viper from FL with ViperGranny in hers at the very least. Another buddy of mine with a 94 Viper will be flying up.
I was lucky enough to get the lawn pass but I still really don’t know what to expect. With roadkill nights going on immediately after the CAAP event I wonder how any of us could coordinate anything.
I imagine that Detroit will be pretty busy that evening.
Id be glad to just chat/mingle with Viper owners honestly. To me there really isn’t a better time to be had. -
Detroit is really far for many of us in Quebec but we managed to get 10 participants. I even took 3 days off. One of the guys will even fly back from Miami to Detroit and will have his Viper transported. All of us only got a “general” admission ticket that won’t allow us to do much. Not even the Roadkill. So we are wondering what we will do. I don’t want to disappoint our members.
I have started to look into some possible activities beside the “free chrysler donut show”. Is there anything special that we can do around Detroit for car guys ?
Is there something planned on the VOA side ?
