Sorry for being lazy and not going to look myself, but I believe you’re correct about the knob. I remember it’s very easy to adjust them. If you’re not sure, just turn the lights on and mess with the knob to see which way the lights move. The tricky part is finding out what the proper aim is.

IIRC on the gen 4 the aim is behind the small (about 1″ dia) bung in a groove under the hood. If that makes any sense! Open hood, and inside the engine bay by the light housing there is a groove in the horizontal plastic and a bung at the end of it in the vertical surface on the side of the engine bay, remove the bung and there is a hex adjuster behind it for up down adjustment. There is no left and right as such(like there was on the gen2), to do that you have to unbolt the whole housing and try and do it that way.

Prepares to be wrong as its a few years since i fiddled with it

      Maybe a picture says a 1000 words.

Dave’s photo shows exactly where it is. Get the cap off, then you’ll need a deep well socket and/or extension to reach in there and turn up or down. (I think it’s 10 or 11 mm). Very accessible actually.

Searched and did not find (on our site) a simple how-to guide for aiming the Gen IV (and Gen III, I presume?) headlight. The graphic in the manual lacks detail and it’s not easy to figure out where you’re supposed to be looking.

Is the (presumed) up/down knob accessed from inside the wheel well, behind that little “hatch” door?

Thanks in advance for your help, once I do this I’ll post a pic or two.
