      Hello all

I have posted this in the Membership section as required by the bylaws. (I spent the weekend shoveling dirt at my worksite – so I am a day late)

Please consider running for a national office – it’s time to move the club forward and you have a good solid foundation! I encourage you to copy / paste this announcement to your membership since not everyone is online. We’ll also announce in the next newsletter.

Thank you for all you do!

It is that time – we’re getting older! 😉 And it is time to hold our first election for National Officers.

It is an amazing time to be a part of the VOA – and it’s time to turn over the reins to the folks that will continue the journey. In a short year and a half since being “official” – we’ve managed an awesome national event (NVE1), published a multiple award winning magazine, made this website the “go to” place for Viper owners, established process and procedures that put the club on solid financial footing, changed the CULTURE of the club to one of inclusion and transparency, and, oh yeah, we gave away a NEW CAR!

Qualifications are that you are a current officer in a region (to ensure some current club experience) and are willing to devote some time and effort in continuing to adapt and change this club so that it remains current, relevant and exciting to all owners. Please encourage your leaders to step forward if you think he or she has “the right stuff” to lead the club at a national level.

Candidates will need to announce 30 days prior to the election (September 1) and should be prepared to provide candidate statements with their qualifications and vision for the future. We will publish here, and encourage the local club leaders to forward to the membership and foster discussion on the local club’s backing for any particular candidate. It’s the first time we’re doing this – so we will be doing some learning and iteration as we go (staying within the confines of the bylaws, of course) so we are open to input.

If there are more than 10 candidates for a single position, we’ll have a debate with the top 10 being chosen by either the lowest ET in the quarter mile, a single lap of the VIR long course, or most autocross cones killed in a season. KIDDING!!!

Stay tuned for updates, and also expect some discussion within your local region. And thank you for all you have done to make this club as great as it is in this short time period.
