Racetech makes specifics seats for the Viper. I just finished putting a passenger one in my X today

MTGTS – do you have any photos? Just curious to see how well the racetech fits in the cockpit.

The X does not have door panels so the Racetech does fit perfect. with a door panel most seats will need to be trimmed and unless you buy a small seat (waist size 30 or smaller) it is very hard to get a working base and be able to get to the mounting bolts because of the narrow distance from the tunnel to the sill.

The pass side of the X has the cage there instead of a door panel and it does not come out into the door like the driver side. Definitely harder to get the seat in, especially a seat with halo protection but it’s possible with lots of trial and error. Adjustable mounts are a must unless you are getting some custom built. I bought some Planted universal side mount brackets that worked well. You can get them off Ebay for around $100 and they meet the FIA thickness requirements.

I have a barely used racetech seat and planted brackets in the classifieds. Was used very little in the passenger side. Comes with schroth 6 point harness

I installed a Corbeau FX1 Pro in my Gen4. It was also in my Gen2. I fabricated my own non-adjustable mount. My goal was to get the seat as low as possible. I’m 6’4″. I did not have to trim the “wing”. It touches the door panel but does not interfere with the door closing and has not left a mark in the panel. I’m happy with it but it’s a compromise.

Of your looking for a race seat for the street the Status Ring-GT fits well in the gen 4 on planted bases and rails

      I’ve got a Cobra Suzuka http://cobra.subesports.com/products/cat/seats/brand/Cobra/prodID/650

Used their brackets and have about 1 1/2″ of seat travel adjustment (but you have to adjust the bolts, not a slider)

Had to trim the upper wing by the door, we have a guy here in SoCal that has done a few and instead of “cutting” the wing, he trims the inner foam and re-stiches the outside so you can’t tell its been trimmed

Has anyone successfully installed a racing seat such as a Sparco in a Gen 4? Im considering this in my ACR but only on the drivers side. If you had this done, which brand of seat did you use and did you have to trim the upper wing on door side for door to clear when closed? I had to do this on my old GTS and kind of a pain. Also did you do a fixed to the floor mount or use any adjustable sliders? Please indicate the model of seat too and any other pertinent info you can give me. Thanks in advance.
