NM, I kinda went a little old school and lightly “modified” the hold down with a BFG. Its all good now! Thanks anyways!

Hey there folks, I’m having an issue getting my battery to fit the tray in my 08 convertible. The PO (previous owner) had a braille battery in the car when I got it and is isn’t able to cut the mustard anymore. I want to go back to a group 34 with the stock mountup. I picked up the stock mount and a bolt and washer for it, then a Duralast platinum 34-AGM. I tried to mount the battery and it wont fit in the tray, it seems to stick out too much so the hold down wont go down far enough to start the bolt.

Does this lip at the back of the battery tray belong here? I can’t find a pic of a gen 3/4 battery tray with no battery in it anywhere.

That’s how far the battery sits forward in the tray.

Theres the hold down from the top.

There is how far the hold down still is from the bottom. Do I bend up the clamp to try and make it fit? I thought battery groups were standard sizes?
Thanks for any help you can give me!
