Very nice. Aside from the difference in tires, you beat Winklers 147.7 assuming your car is stock otherwise.

      Congrats!

      Thanks Rapidrezults!

      The car is stock.

The best virtual lap (based on my best sector times) was a 1:44.53. I am sure with a couple of days more and trucks full of tires I could have gotten down quite a bit more…. but I was just getting tired (running in the factory seats…).

I would run the Kumhos, but I get more track miles from the R7 Hoosiers, and I am paying for them. I think the Kumhos are very close to the Hoosier R7. An A7 Hoosier is faster than the Kumho. Anyway — this is not apples to apples, and it really isn’t intended to be. Nobody is sponsoring me to break the factory records on Hoosiers, or to try and beat them on Kumhos. I am just having fun running this car.

I used to be sponsored by Kumho when I was winning National Solo and Pro Solo championships, and the V720 on this car is very similar to the tires I used to run (V710s). The rear Kumho is IMHO better than the Hoosier at putting power down, and lateral grip is very good, and the low profile front Kumho allows the car to really get low in the front and really get the downforce going.

Wish I could make it, but I doubt it. Wife would shoot me.

Harry’s Lap Timer. Works well enough most of the time..

I use a 10HZ external GPS with it, and a GoPro Hero4 Silver.

Here is a video from my fast lap, which ended up being a 1:46.63.

Wow. Was that on A7’s or R7’s?

R7s. A7s are probably worth another 1/2 second or second? I just like getting more laps from my tires. I think the R7s will last 4 days, with about even wear front to rear.

I’ve been talking to a lot of people lately about A7’s and seems they are worth much more than 1 second. Guys I know put them on if they are trying to break records etc, but their speed drops off much faster, after 4 heat cycles or so. I just corded some R7’s this weekend on the ACR and I got 24 heat cycles out of them. I didn’t realize how slow they got though until the next morning I put on new ones and was 6 seconds faster on a 2.5 mile track.

Did #13 CW at Buttonwillow with a small group on Monday and Tuesday this week in my 2016 ACR Extreme.

      Car was awesome.
