Thanks in advance for the thoughts. Was on a cruise with the local VOA and about half way through, clutch felt odd, hard to shift, and “rattly”. I moved the pedal up using the adjuster, and it seemed to shift normally. Was initially thinking birdcage issue, but that looks solid. Play seems to be coming from actual clutch master cylinder. Doesn’t seem to hard to replace, and rather than just throwing a part at it, thought I’d get some feedback. 2009, 49k miles. I have done several “turkey baster” refreshes of the clutch fluid over the years.

Appreciate any advice tips/tricks for those that have replaced it. For example – how does the clutch rod release from the birdcage. New master comes with a new birdcage, but it might be nice to salvage to keep in the glove box as backup.
