Hello again. Quick shout out to those who IM’ed me about this post. I’ve not learned much more about the ride in my garage these past few years … But definitely not for lack of trying from folks like Bill P. Thank you again, Sir. Maybe I should spend more time driving it than wondering about its history! You all take care, stay safe.

I googled your Vin. Tomball sold it before when it had 8400 miles. At that time it was advertised as a 522 stroker
Dyno sheets in the listing from another shop. Maybe they built the stroker and know some history?
Also,do you have the window sticker or a car fax? I think your Viper started out as a Viper Experience Skip Barber car

The shop in Houston didnt build it, but remembered doing the dyno run. Bernie at VE mentioned he’d had it a couple of times. I can clearly see it has the supercharger, but I have no paperwork on 522 build.
I don’t have the window sticker, but do have its Carfax. I mentioned it came to Texas via New Mexico, but it was first registered in Norton, MA. It spent less than a year there before showing up in NM.
Carfax also shows that it fails its Emission inspections, which I’d expect, and knew when I bought it. That’s not an issue for me so long as Texas keeps their low mileage exemption / waiver program in place.

Howdy RedTan. The shop in Houston didn’t build it, but remembered doing the dyno run. Bernie @ VE mentioned he’d had the car a couple of times. I can clearly see it has the supercharger, but I have no documentation on the 522 build.
I don’t have the window sticker, but do have Carfax. I mentioned it came to Texas via New Mexico, but it spent its first year (nearly) registered in Norton, Massachusetts. Carfax also shows it fails its Texas emissions inspections, which I’d expect.
So long as Texas keeps the low-mileage waiver / exemption program in place, emissions isn’t an issue for me. The car is crazy reliable. It doesn’t bother me to jump in on 100+ Houston days, never runs hot. Ron Davis radiator appears to work!

When you say the “shop in Houston” do you mean both difference shops? There’s a dyno sheet from Tomball’s prior sale at 8400 miles, the shop name is different than the one you posted with the video It’s called KPRacing on Fairbanks North Houston.
If it started in Mass then its not a Skip Barber car. They were all sold as Corporate Vehicles and sold out of a Dodge dealership in Sebring, FL (serviced there too)
You have a great Viper, I miss my old ’06!! Mike

I didn’t know about the other dyno sheet you mentioned. I’ll have to find out now! I do love these ’06 coupes. That’s a beauty you posted. Appreciate you doing some poking around on mine. Only took me 3 years to get curious enough to ask publicly. Better late than never …

Oh no, replying to my own reply … That must be bad form 😉 I did follow up on the KP Racing lead, thanks again to RedTan for finding that. Looks like that shop closed for good ~ 2018. I also found some old registration info in the car, sent a nice handwritten letter to the address / prior owner in Spring, TX. No idea if he’s still there, but worth a shot. I’ll let this thread wither on the vine for now – Unless anyone has any more bits of ‘I know that car’ info. You all be safe out there, Mike M

Morning Folks. This isn’t an ad for VE / BJ, but is most likely to spark ‘Yes, I know that car’ recollections. I bought this Viper from Bernie Katz in April 2017. It is still a beast … And completely trouble-free for the 2,000 miles I’ve put on it the past 3+ years.

My question for my VOA friends > Do any of you know anything about this car? It was in Carlsbad, New Mexico at least through 2012, registered in Spring, Texas in 2014. I’m mostly curious about the engine build details, mild curiosity with wheel / tire combo.
There’s a YouTube video of the car being dyno’ed in Houston. I know from speaking with them that this shop didn’t do the work, just the dyno test. And you know I didn’t own it then, otherwise the car and windshield wouldn’t have been dusty in the video 😉

I’ll admit I was leery of buying a forced induction car, one that I didn’t know the builder or that I had built myself. The car has been rock solid, including cruising around in 100+ weather in Houston. It moves! If you know of this car, I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks, and you all be safe out there! Cheers, Mike M
