Any work done on your car lately involving the dash…such as airbag recall ??

First round recall was done the spring right after they sent the notices that it was available. I want to say that was at the least 2 years ago.

Haven’t pursued the 2nd recall, to fix the first recall fix that I guess didn’t do it’s job (not mad, just being blunt).

Melted connector hunting will be fun too.

      Mr White,

There were several of us at MPH with code readers that could have helped at the moment. Did you pull any codes yourself? Check drivers side frame rail also.

It was on Sunday and I found myself in a fight or flight type scenario, so I ventured the drive home. Which car was yours?

no codes pulled yet, I blew my chance at getting hooked up to a scan tool yesterday. I followed as many harness lines as I could find under the hod, nothing visibly touching the exhaust or melted loom.

There were 3 of us from WI there. Black Gen 4 ACR, Comp Blue TA2, and the Red/white Gen V LeMans Livery.

If it has a TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) module like my 2009 Dodge Nitro take a look at it. Basically this module contains all the control circuits and relays for everything in the car running on CanBUS. Replaced it with a new one which was many revisions newer for $270 and all has been fine since. Needless to say Dodge didn’t have a clue what was wrong so I searched the forums and found someone who videoed his Nitro going nuts. If you smacked the top of TIPM it would work until the next time. Let me see if I remember most of the symptoms in the Nitro….. wipers start and stop while squirting fluid, vehicle shuts off while driving down highway and restarts, all dash indicators go nuts, audio jacked up, rear wiper same as front, headlights, turn signals, AC/heat, basically everything went crazy. Oh and the best one of all, when you stop on the highway to open hood and smack the TIPM to straighten it out the door blows shut and locks you out 😡 That being said I have an 04 Viper and don’t think it has a TIPM as complex as the Nitro but probably has something similar that could cause multiple simultaneous problems like you describe.

      Hello,

I am looking for clues and hopefully someone who has experienced this and found the solution. On my cooldown lap this morning at MPH and my ABS, Brake, Airbag, and later my check engine light went on. Things that were no longer functioning: air conditioning, skip shift (as well as reverse lockout), speedometer, turn signals, and probably more.

Windows, headlights, brake lights, stereo, engine, alternator, gauges other than the speedometer all appeared to work properly.

I’ve experienced this with other chryslers, which a quick jiggle of the keys fixed. However this is a lot newer car. Car is a 04, no mods, no monkey business.

Has anyone run into this on a 3rd gen?
