All the more reason to treat yourself to some spare parts 😀

Click on “CLASSIFIEDS” at the top of this page.
If you have questions about any given generation, I would suggest that you post them in the generation specific area…found below this section.
Here is a thread with some general tips:

A Viper is a fine choice for a stablemate!!
I’d recommend browsing around on the Generation-specific pages for a while, and then using the Search function prior to starting a thread asking questions. There’s treasure on these pages. Don’t hesitate to revive an old thread. I’m always astounded by the great information I stumble across while randomly wandering around here.

A lotus Exige is right up at the top of my list for must fun driving experience ever. Years ago was thrown the keys for a few laps of Summit Point Raceway in WV.There is really nothing like a Exige/Elise. They are street legal go karts. I have the luxury of living within 2 hours of 4 different race tracksm and some really nice curvy roads. There is no other vehicle I feel that puts you in control of literally the whole car. its a rough ride and you are in full control and will go toe to toe with cars with 200+ more horse power cars at the track. Thanks for pointing out the classifieds up top, ill keep a eye out!

You will be surprised surprised at how much the momentum skills you learned in the Elise will pass over to the Viper. I had folks question my sanity for years when I was running Spec Miata and then would switch over to a Viper in ITE with SCCA. I found driving the Miata helped me become even quicker in the Viper and you will definitely find some surprising comparisons. We have a couple of guys who run Elise’s in our NASA Region and they are fast in a straight line , but watching one go around a corner is an exercise in maximum Gs!!!! I drove one , while Instructing, many years back and I can not imagine anyone who is a under the Genus Trackraticus who would not come away with your assessment — street legal , large , Go-Karts. The only issue with them is if you are a larger carbon based life form, that form will not fit in a Lotus —even in the Lotus position, ha.
Good luck and you might also post what part of the Country you are in.

Years ago was thrown the keys for a few laps of Summit Point Raceway in WV.That is one of the places that I plan to track the Elise. Thats about a hour away from me. Just haven’t been able to get a group of people to go due to the Covid unfortunately. Plus its pretty confusing trying to find exactly what you need to enter, most places or groups require inspections and some even have membership dues.

I have learned so much from the Elise, I have never been able to maneuver a vehicle like this, and I have barely even gotten into the 2nd cam. I live near Harrisonburg Va, I have a infinite amount of curvy roads around me, I use MapmyRun app to create “tracks” in the back roads and often enjoy solo cruising those. My father got stuck getting out of my Elise, not to good for older people either. Ive wanted a Viper for ages, as I believe it is the classic american designed muscle car. Thanks for all your replies guys!

What do you mean by getting into the 2nd cam?

My dad had a 2008 supercharged Elise SC, tons of fun and very quick. Then followed three Evoras; N/A Evora w/ manual, supercharged Evora S w/ manual and another, supercharged Evora S, tuned with IPS and Mansory carbon fiber parts – gorgeous car. Had I not been the Viper fan I am, I might have ended up buying an Evora. These cars are amazing and don’t get the credit they deserve. They are not very good in terms of infotainment-system or show the highest interior craftmanfship, but boy oh boy are they incredible machines to drive.

So think of like VTEC, it switches over to another cam and feels like you are hitting boost. If you have ever driven a Honda S2000, it is the same, it gets to a certain RPM then the 2nd cam “kicks in” and gives you faster acceleration. It switches Cams to a basically allow a higher lift which allows more air in and more power.

I would prefer a better interior but I have added Carbon Fiber to mine so it looks decent now. The issue with Lotus is they are always going to have issues, so you need to buy one that has had all the recalls and issues taken care of.

The carbon fiber trim looks very good!

I would recommend that you arrange to post your car in the Classifieds found at the top of this page.
-
For sale sections for parts and cars both divided and broken down by gen. would help a lot.
